Type Familia is a design conference about contemporary design and typography, with International speakers such as Paula Scher, Neville Brody, Jessica Walsh and Erik Spiekermann. The task was to design both a typeface based on simple geometric shapes, and a promotional brochure/poster featuring this typeface that conveyed the excitement of contemporary design to an audience of designers and students. Only two colours were to be employed.

Simple and clean geometry was the main inspiration behind the typeface, with the idea to communicate as effectively as possible with as little as possible. A stripped back approach. The poster features a bold use of negative space, with a considered application of the chosen coral pink as to organise information. Subtle accents of the typeface are used throughout.
